Wijn: Marc Colin - Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne 1992×Wis filters

Open wine note in Cellartracker

Marc Colin Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Garennes 1992 versus
Bachelet-Ramonet Bienvenue-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 1992: Oh man. The Bachelet-Ramonet was the shame of the night. It lost hands down against the Marc Colin. It was probably over the hill, but then it never could have been much (I never tasted it before because I got it as a gift), because fine 1992 Grand Cru Montrachets are showing pretty well at this age (had a beautiful Guy Amiot Montrachet 1992 recently which I rated 98...). I did not find notes for this wine, but RP does not rate other vintages very high either. No surprise. The Marc Colin was a fine example of a mature white Burgundy, with nice nutty character, butter, good acidity to carry it all.
